With over 22 years' experience in hospital nursing and home health including a Wound Care unit and hospital-wide wound care, Denise received professional training to perform foot assessment and routine foot care on diabetic and high risk feet from Dr. Julia Overstreet, Podiatric physician, surgeon and wound care specialist. She has lived in Arizona since 2000, and cared for many diabetic and neuropathic foot ,and feet with decreased sensation in danger of wound development and infection. Trained and certified as a wound, ostomy and continence nurse, over the past four years she has gained experience and certified in foot care nursing through the WOCNCB®, the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society certification board which is independently accredited by two agencies: the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the Accreditation Board of Specialty Nursing. Certification (ABSNC). She is an active member of the Tucson Affiliate of the WOCN and American Foot Care Nurses Association.

Rx Require for In Home Care

A printed or written Rx from your physician or PCP for “in home routine foot care” is required. At this time routine foot care is not covered by insurances or medicare.
Diabetic Foot Care

Proper Foot Care

With routine Footcare, assessment of skin and nails, as well as circulation and neuropathy check if diabetic, a foot soak with a disposable liner is provided, followed by moisturizer and foot massage upon conclusion.

Scheduling an Appointment

For scheduling purposes, extra time may be needed if nail polish could not be removed prior to the visit.
